Mr Lukasz Turlej is an entrepreneur, professional conference organizer, social media specialist and chess journalist. He holds degrees in International Trade from the Katowice University of Economics and in Event Management from the University of the West of Scotland in Glasgow. He is the CEO of the ‘EventASy’ Event Company in Poland as well as the owner of the ‘Management Lukasz Turlej’ company. He is also the CEO of European Chess TV and the co-founder of University Sport TV. He has also co-founded 2 newspapers in Poland and launched the major Polish social-media chess fan page.

Lukasz has been the Vice-President of the Polish Chess Federation since 2017 and a board member since December 2015. He has also been the Head of the Polish Chess Delegation for many international events including the 2016 Baku Olympiad. He currently has board level responsibility for the marketing of chess in Poland as he is an experienced chess organiser having also been a Board Member of the Silesian Chess Federation in Katowice since 2011.

He was the Organizer of the 2017 European Blitz and Rapid Chess Championships held in Katowice (which saw a record number of participants) and has organised many other international events in Poland with more than 500 participants. In addition, he is a former board member of the Polish University Sport Association in Warsaw and was Deputy CEO of the FISU World University Chess Championships in 2014. He was also the organizer of the 100+ Polish and Silesian University Championships which was a multi-sport event with more than 20 sporting codes participating.
